If you have been following my journey you know I started 6 months ago on a quest to find happiness in helping others.
I quickly caught the entrepreneur bug and started building my own fitness coaching business. Then, Something happened along the way. I got lost. How did I get so lost when my vision was so clear in the beginning? Here are a few tips that I learned sofar.
Allow yourself to make mistakes, allow yourself to be wrong
As children we are taught that making mistakes are bad. In school your paper is marked in red ink when it is wrong. We are taught to strive for perfection instead of finding the good in the imperfections. All my choices throughout my life have brought me to where I am today. I do not know exactly what I am meant to be I can tell you exactly what I am NOT meant to be. The only way to learn what works and what is right for you is to know what does not work and what is not right.
Go back to basics and dig deep
Take the time to figure out what truly matters to you. Our society is riddled with a surplus of distractions. Television, computers, cell phones, games -console and phone, the list goes on and on. Peel back the layers of society and get to the root of what makes you YOU. I recommend reading personal development books or writing in a journal; to stimulate your mind and heart.
Accept that change is good
The only way to grow is by experiencing change. We can’t run from it we just have to accept it. I think back to when I was younger and wanted to be a singer/actress like Whitney Houston. Now my dreams are very different instead I would love to travel the world and experience different cultures. When I lost my job last year I definitely didn’t want to accept the change was good for me. Now I look back and realize it was the best thing that happened to me.
I certainly don’t have all the answers but these are a few lessons learned along the way.
